I know I haven't written in here in forever, but I just have one question. Why am I "that girl"?? The one who married men fantasize about and talk to as if they are objects of their own desire and can ask them whatever they want?? I only really have one person (Rimshot) who uses me like that, but still; Why can't I just be the girl who people come to talk to about things that don't involve sex??
There is a song from Wicked that I think fits my mood right now:
I'm Not That Girl
Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl:
Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl
Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in
Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl:
Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl.
**EDIT 12 / 30 / 11:** I think what I was trying to say with this is that I'd rather be in either of the positions described in the song than the position that I'm in.
That's all for now. I'll try to write more soon / when I can.
